One Down, three to go

Boy, you lost by 20 points. What? Did you
think they were gonna vote for you,

Bouchard wins GOP Senate race; Walberg upsets Schwarz in 7th

With nearly 90 percent of the vote counted, Bouchard held a 3-2 margin over Troy clergyman Keith Butler in Tuesday's voting.

"A new Michigan starts now," a beaming Bouchard flanked by his wife and children told several hundred cheering supporters who gathered at the Community House of Birmingham.

Bouchard said Butler called him after midnight and congratulated him on the race. He attributed his victory to "continuing to focus on the issues that Michigan is concerned about."

Bouchard, 50, has built his campaign on homeland security issues and his law enforcement background. Butler, also 50, and a former Detroit City Councilman, ran on the notion that he's not a career politician.
