The four amendments David Drier's House Rules Committee made into order are:

GETTING RID OF BILINGUAL BALLOTS: Amendment offered by Reps. King of Iowa, Istook, Miller of Michigan, Browne-Waite, and Bachus that strikes the sections re-authorizing the Section 203 bilingual ballot requirements;

DRASTICALLY SHORTENING THE SUNSET PROVISION FOR VRA FROM 25 TO 10 YEARS: Amendment offered by Rep. Gohmert that would re-authorize the expiring sections of the Voting Rights Act for 10 years, rather than 25 years in the underlying bill.

AMENDMENT BASICALLY ASKING CONGRESS TO IGNORE INSTITUTIONIZED RACISM IN CERTAIN REGIONS OF THE COUNTRY (cough ***SEC FOOTBALL CONFERENCE*** cough) AND INSTEAD JUST FOCUS ON LAST THREE PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS: An amendment offered by Rep. Norwood that repeals the current formula for Section 5 "coverage" and instead applies Section 5 to jurisdictions based on their discriminatory voting practices over the past three presidential election cycles; and

BAILOUT AMENDMENT MAKING EASIER FOR CERTAIN JURISDICTIONS (Cough***SEC FOOTBALL CONFERENCE***COUGH) WITH A HISTORY OF VOTING DISCRIMINATION TO ESCPAE VRA REGULATIONS: expedite the Section 5 "bailout" process.
