Breaking News: Harold Ford, Jr., now leads Bob Corker in the Tennessee Senate race 44-42!

Ford was expected to break the story on Hardball tonight, but he decided to hit the Tennessee media with it first. That happens tomorrow, but right now - the Ford Campaign is giving us bloggers an exclusive look at the numbers!

A two-point lead! Yes, it's in the margin of error, but this poll is huge for a number of reasons. For one, it's Tennessee! This was suppose to be an uphill battle, but instead it's dead even!

Ford was down 12 points six weeks ago - so we've got major momentum and a candidate who is getting the job done. This guy knows how to shake hands and seal the deal with the voters. Dare I say Clinton-esque? Hell, yes.

Plus, the internals on this poll just might make you pee your pants with joy. For those numbers, you'll have to wait for until tomorrow. I'll bring you all the details right after the Ford campaign makes the big announcement.

And remember: Corker has a Sundquist problem, a Bush problem, a dirty land deal problem, a base problem, a credibility problem...

Yes, but Ford has a blackness problem. If Ford was white, he'd have an excellent chance at winning the seat. But at the end of the day, whites who fled the GOP will have to go into a voting booth and vote for Ford, and I think that's a tough sell.

I'd like to be wrong, but I think this race is about to get as ugly as Gantt-Helms. Because I don't see the GOP going down without a nasty, racist fight.
