Tony Snow Launches Racist Attack Against Helen Thomas

There is no denying that Helen Thomas is the daughter of Lebanese immigrants. There is also no denying that she is the tenacious bulldog of the White House press corps. I want to think that it's that tenacity that caused Tony "Tar Baby" Snow to mount a viciously racist attack against Thomas yesterday. It's hard to not think the worst of anyone associated with Bush and reconize that Snow's lack of professional judgement in implying Thomas is an arm of Hezbollah is a multi pronged attack on Thomas and the press.

Snow's an ass for saying this. Simultaneously, he insults entire press corps, Helen Thomas, and the citizens of the country by ridiculing her question as somehow being the official view of what the White House calls terrorists. Snow's a disgrace.

Thomas is a Christian, btw. Snow's insult is amazing in it's offensiveness. But then, the craven cowardice of the press corps which let Thomas be a punching bag for the WH let this happen.
