United States Soccer Federation officials have spoken to Sven-Goran Eriksson as part of their search for a new manager for the men’s national team, replacing Bruce Arena, according to a person who spoke on the condition of anonymity for fear of jeopardizing a relationship with federation officials. Eriksson, a Swede who resigned as coach of the English national team after the World Cup in Germany, was paid $5 million by the English Football Association, a figure that is probably beyond the capacity of the federation to pay.

Guus Hidnik. Now that's a name which wouldn't cause me to go insane. Eriksson? And his antics? Here? Are they crazy? I mean, look at who he's had and what they've done and you want him? His teams are a virtual all star team and they can't win big games. Terry, Ferdidnand, Beckham, Gerrard, Cole, Owen, Rooney.......need I go on? Come on? Look at England's sides and what the Eriksson era brought? Wenger, Maurino and Fergusson never had this kind of talent on tap and they win games. Look at France, Germany, Italy, Portugal, even Greece and South Korea. Less talent, more success.

And this is who they want for US Soccer? I thought they were talking to Klingsmann.
