Please don't support blog awards
Every blog is different
The official policy, such that it is, of this site, is that we will not help fund, support, nominate, vote for, or have any relationship with blog awards.
We also request that we not be nominated for any awards, nor will we acknowledge or accept any awards given.
Why?
From it's inception, I have thought the Koufax awards was a horrible, regressive idea, which only served to seperate bloggers from the cooperative community which has been so successful. Why should we be in the business in supporting a popularity contest instead of looking at what work makes a difference.
I would never give a dime to support any awards program. Because I think it doesn't help bloggers actually improve their work.
And what do the catagories actually mean? Nothing. They're all arbitrary.
I think people should focus on making their blogs the best they can be, not voting on who they like better. The only person I'm competing with is myself. I don't care how other people run their sites.
My only goal is to get attention for other blog posts which I find interesting and getting them noticed. I find the idea of judging my peers and giving them awards repellent, because it's not a contest. We're all doing the best we can.
