Cut the shit. Chuck
How's Tom Suozzi doing?
Look, no need to go on.
If Ned Lamont wins, and Joe Lieberman loses the Democratic primary, the simple fact is that he will have been rejected by Connecticut voters, not the blogs, not Kos, but people who live in Connecticut.
Therefore, Lamont, winning in a fair election, would be the Democratic nominee. Not Lieberman.
It is the duty of the DSCC to promote Democratic candidates. Now, if Lamont was to wake up with a live boy or dead girl, or was proven to dine on human flesh, backing another candidate would be acceptable. But unless the man is dining on long pig for the cameras, you owe him your support.
To try do to anything will have two effects, one, demonstrate you're a pigheaded idiot willing to split the party over a man, two, turn many loyal Democrats against you.
The reason Lieberman is being run to ground by a local official is that he isn't loyal, not to the party, not to his constituents and he does not fight. It isn't just the war, but the war symbolizes all which is wrong with Lieberman and his politics. He thinks compromise is the greatest virtue, even when the people who sent him into office expect him to fight.
He created this mess on his own and will live with the consequences. As will you.
